My Story
I paint the world around me. Beauty is there in nature, in relationships, in our everyday events. A Canadian Geese in flight, Koi fish feeding, reeds bending in the winds, bamboo under the weight of snow, even a puppy at the water bowl.
Capture those fleeting moments... forever.

When I was eight, my teacher Mrs. Thomas cured my lisp. I did not know how to thank her so I painted a picture for her and she was so thrilled. I never forgot what she told me, ”Harvey you are so talented, thank you. You are an artist. Art seems to be your “North Star, Follow your star.”
That's when painting and drawing started to become one of my passions. Throughout all the changes of my life; as a husband, father, grandfather, chemist, working in advertising and film, I never stopped painting. It brought me so much joy and fulfillment.
Then at the age of seventy- five I decided to dedicate my time to teaching painting full time. I made it a tradition that before every class I would remind my students, “You are an artist.” Just like my teacher, Mrs. Thomas told me so many years ago.
I understand now that art can change peoples lives and minds. That's when I decided to launch a website and sell my art as a way to give back. When you purchase any of my paintings 10% of all proceeds will go to The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. Supporting the LGTBQ community is very important to me and my family.
We lost our son Bruce to Aids when he was just 37 and we have several grandchildren that identify as Queer. So it's important to us to help this community stay safe and protected. Thank you for helping me make a difference. And I hope you enjoy my work.
